Backwash filter application area

The Duo DFR is the entry-level filter in the SYR filter range. It is used as a filter fitting for drinking water installations according to DIN 1988. Installation is achieved using the fully rotatable integrated connection flange. The Duo DFR works in all installation positions. Its highly compact design also makes it suitable for protecting individual appliances (dishwashers, drinking water heaters, etc.).

Execution

The Duo DFR is designed as a manual backwash filter with connection sizes DN 20 - DN 25. The integrated pressure reducer protects the installation from excessively high pressures or pressure surges. The cascade-shaped filter insert is made of plastic.

Materials

The filter cup is made of impact-resistant plastic, and the filter element is made of plastic. The ring seals are made of asbestos-free fiber. All materials used comply with recognized engineering standards. The plastic parts and elastomers that come into contact with water comply with the KTW recommendations of the Federal Health Office.

Installation

DIN 1988 generally requires the installation of filters in drinking water installations for corrosion protection reasons. For centralized use as a domestic water filter, the Duo DFR filter should be installed in an easily accessible location directly behind the water meter system.

Technical data:

Operating pressure: min. 2 bar, max. 16 bar

Operating temperature: max. 30 °C

Installation position: any, main axis of the filter vertical

Medium: drinking water

Passage width: lower: 90 µm, upper: 125 µm

Flow rate: DN 20: 2.3 m³/h at 1.1 bar ?p

ABP No.: DN 20: P-IX 6738/l

DVGW No.: NW-9311BR0129

Assembly

Prior to installation, the pipeline must be thoroughly flushed. The first fill of the drinking water system must be done with filtered water (DIN 1988, Part 2). The filter should be positioned vertically with its main axis. The filter is installed in the pipeline without stress, taking into account the flow direction (arrow on the housing).

maintenance

Due maintenance is indicated by a maintenance indicator on top of the filter. However, DIN 1988 requires backwashing the filter at least every two months. No special tools are required to maintain the Duo DFR. To maintain the filter, open the ball valve and turn the filter base 2-3 turns to the left or right. Then close the ball valve again. The water supply continues with filtered water even during backwashing. The fully rotatable connection flange.
